This is the part people find hardest to accept, and it is worth being straight about: where waste is fly-tipped on private land, the cost of removing it falls on the landowner or occupier rather than the council. However unfair that is, waiting for somebody else to deal with it usually means waiting a long time while the pile grows.
Photograph it and report it to the council first — that record matters if it happens again, and if the tipping is on the public highway or a council-owned lane they may clear it themselves. Then ring us. We turn these round faster than anything else we do.

Why we clear these first
Fly-tipping compounds. One mattress against a wall becomes five bags beside it within a week, because the next person driving past sees somewhere that is evidently already being used as a tip. Clearing it in the first few days is the difference between a quarter load and a full one.
If you own a lane, a yard or a block of flats where it keeps happening, say so when you ring. We see the same spots repeatedly, and can usually tell you what actually stops it — which is normally a light and a gate rather than a sign.
