Loft clearance
Loft clearance in Newport — from £160, flat rate
Decades of boxes, old furniture, Christmas decorations and “we’ll sort it one day” — cleared from your loft in a single visit, at one flat price from £160. We work off a ladder or loft hatch, carry everything down ourselves, and leave the space swept and empty.
What a loft clearance with us involves
Lofts collect a strange mix of things: suitcases nobody travels with any more, the cot from the kids’ nursery, boxes of paperwork, old bedding, broken furniture, pushchairs, paint tins and the contents of every “sort it later” bag since you moved in. People search for loft clearance, attic clearance or a loft clear out — whatever you call it, it is the same job: everything up there, emptied out and gone.
- Everything carried down by us — loft hatch, ladder or pull-down stair, no damage to walls
- Boxes, furniture, luggage, toys, bedding, tools and general junk all taken
- Old loft boards, water tanks and insulation handled and removed safely
- Flat price agreed on a photo before we start — no hourly rates
- Licensed carrier CBDU034669, recycled as much as possible, transfer note on request
The only things we won’t take are hazardous materials such as asbestos insulation boards and live electrical wiring — if either is up there, tell us when you send the photo and we will point you at the right local service for that part.
What a loft clearance costs
Loft space is usually a £160 quarter-load, a £290 half-load or a £450 full van, depending on how much is up there — most loft clearances fall into the quarter or half bracket. The price is fixed on the photo you send, before we set off.
Quarter van
£160
A hatch-full of boxes and bags — the classic “just the stuff” loft.
Half van
£290
Boxes plus furniture, bedding and the bits you forgot were up there.
Full van
£450
The hoarder’s loft — floor to rafters, and we still do it in one visit.
Access extras are rare, but if a job needs two men for a full day or a second trip, we tell you before we start — never on the invoice. See the full price list ›
Where we work
Loft clearance across Newport’s suburbs
Most of our loft clearances in Newport come from three situations: a sale — the estate agent has said the loft needs emptying before photos; a bereavement — the family clearing the house room by room, loft last; and the downsizer moving to a smaller place who finally has to face what is stored up there. We also do regular loft clearances for landlords between tenancies, and for office and shop owners clearing storage above the premises. A fair share of our Newport loft clearances come through solicitors handling probate sales — the loft is usually the last room the family faces, and we make it the easiest. We also see plenty of “never unpacked since the move” lofts in the suburbs, where the boxes went up when the mortgage completed and have not come down since.
We clear lofts across every NP postcode — from the Victorian terraces of Maindee and Pillgwenlly with their narrow hatches, to the bigger family lofts in Caerleon, Rogerstone and Langstone, and the modern estates of Ringland, Duffryn, Bettws and Malpas where a full standing loft is common. If you can see the roof, we can clear it.
- Natural Resources Wales licensed carrier — CBDU034669
- Fully insured — public liability on every job
- Same-day where we can, otherwise next-day with a time window
- Everything recycled or disposed of at licensed sites

FAQ
Loft clearance — your questions answered
How do you carry things down from a loft?
The same way they went up — through the hatch, down the ladder or loft stairs. We work carefully off ladders and hand items down one at a time, and we protect walls and banisters on the way. If access is extremely tight, we can dismantle larger items like furniture or old wardrobes on site.
Can you clear a loft with just a hatch and a ladder?
Yes — that’s how most lofts are accessed and we do it every week. If there is no ladder at all, we bring our own, and we can work anywhere there is a safe standing point. Lofts with full pull-down stairs are easier, but a hatch and a stepladder is no problem.
Do you take loft boards, old water tanks and insulation?
We take old loft boards and disused water tanks as part of the load. Fibreglass insulation we handle with care and bag up properly — it counts toward the load. Asbestos boards are the one thing we won’t touch — that needs a licensed asbestos removal contractor.
How much does loft clearance cost in Newport?
Loft clearances are priced by how much space the load takes in the van: £160 for a quarter, £290 for a half and £450 for a full 16 cubic yard load. Send a photo and you get the exact price back in one message.
How quickly can you clear my loft?
Same day where we can, otherwise next day with a morning or afternoon time window. Loft clearances rarely need more than a couple of hours on site, so we can usually slot them into the same day you message.
