Garden clearance in Cardiff, from £80
An overgrown garden is usually a mix of green waste and everything else: hedge cuttings, branches, soil, turf, old fence panels, a shed that has seen better days, sometimes rubble from a patio you gave up on. You can clear it yourself over several weekends and several trips to the tip — or we take the whole lot in one visit, at garden rates.
We price most jobs from a photo. Send a couple of pictures of the garden and tell us roughly how big the pile is; you get a flat quote before we set off, and you only pay once the van is loaded and the job is done.
- Hedge cuttings, branches, grass and green waste
- Soil, turf, decking and fence panels
- Sheds and greenhouses dismantled on site
- Rubble and hardcore from patios and paths
- Garden furniture, pots and general junk

What we take, and the two things we cannot
Green waste, wood, soil, rubble, metal, plastic and general garden junk — we take it all, and most of it is separated for recycling rather than tipped. The two things we cannot take are asbestos and fridges or freezers (they need specialist handling for environmental reasons). If your clearance includes either, tell us when you send the photo and we will point you at the right local service for that part.
For landlords and letting agents, a garden clearance is often part of a wider property tidy-up between tenancies — we can do the garden and the house in the same visit, on one invoice.
Most garden clearances are priced from a photo and done in a single visit. Larger jobs — a full plot being cleared for renovation, a commercial site, or several skip-loads of waste — are quoted on a quick site visit instead, and we will tell you honestly whether a skip would work out cheaper before you book anything.
Why the garden rate is cheaper than you might expect
Green waste is lighter and cheaper to dispose of than general rubbish, and we pass that on. A full 16-cubic-yard van of garden waste is £250 against £450 for the same van of general waste — because the transfer station charges us less for green waste, you pay less for it.
That is also why we ask what the job actually is before quoting. If a clearance is mostly soil and turf it prices one way; if it is decking and fence panels it prices another; if it is half garden waste and half old furniture, we quote the rate that fits the bulk of the load and tell you which one we have used and why. No surprises on the day, and no “oh that will be extra” once the van is here.
- Garden rates from £80 a quarter load, not the general £160
- Price agreed on a photo before we set off
- Green waste separated and composted where possible
- Same-day slots in Cardiff where we can
Garden clearance across Cardiff’s suburbs
From the long back gardens of Whitchurch and Rhiwbina to the tight terraced yards of Canton, Grangetown and Splott, we clear gardens across every Cardiff postcode — plus Penarth, Barry, Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Newport and the Vale of Glamorgan. The price is set by the size of the load, not the postcode, and access is rarely a problem: our vans squeeze into lanes, alleyways and shared drives, and we carry everything out ourselves.
If a job needs a little more than the van — a skip for a huge overgrown plot, or a tree surgeon for anything with a trunk too big for us — we will say so and point you at the right person rather than taking the job and making it up as we go.

Questions
Common questions, straight answers
How much does garden clearance cost in Cardiff?
Garden clearance runs on our garden rates: a quarter load at £80, a half load at £140 and a full 16-cubic-yard van at £250. The price is quoted upfront on a photo, and you pay once the van is loaded and you are happy.
What counts as a garden clearance?
Overgrown hedges and cuttings, fallen branches, soil, turf, decking, fence panels, old sheds and greenhouses, rubble from a patio or path, and the general junk that collects at the back of a garden. If it is outside and you want it gone, tell us what it is and we will price it.
Do you cut hedges and take the cuttings?
We are a clearance team, not a gardening service, but on most jobs we will cut back hedges and branches to manageable size as part of taking the green waste away. Tell us what needs cutting when you send the photo and we will include it in the quote.
Can you take an old shed or greenhouse?
Yes. We dismantle sheds and greenhouses on site and take the wood, metal, glass and plastic away as part of the load. Nothing needs moving to the kerb first.
Is garden waste recycled?
Most of what we collect is separated at the yard: green waste goes for composting, wood for chipping and board manufacture, and soil and rubble for reuse. You get a waste transfer note showing where it went.
